Who I am

About

Meet Shayla

Over the years I have been on my own personal wellness journey; from finding my relationship with the Earth, to understanding my body’s chemistry and nutritional needs, and coming home to my most authentic self. I have sought out natural healers and spiritual practitioners to find what my life essence needs and craves. I experiment with herbs and essential oils and aim to work in synchronicity with the natural world and my body. As I become more aware of how much I don’t know, the more I want to learn. And the more I want to help others on their unique healing path.

I  love animals and I am learning to care for plants. I am a foodie and I cook  my own whole-food meals almost everyday. I have learned that daily movement, whether that be walking in the woods, yoga on the back porch or a full-on weight training workout, makes me feel alive and energized. I also live for road trips and adventures to find magical and breathtaking landscapes.

I received my Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle and completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Washington. I have worked with children and parents for several years in outpatient, groups, and inpatient settings. And I completed the CORE Energetics training in Seattle. And I have training in Gottman Couples Therapy and Emotional-Focused Therapy for couples and families.

What I do

Therapy at Re-Earth Wellness

Seeking healing is a difficult step in the personal journey. And you made it this far, I can’t wait to see where it takes you.

Re-Earth Wellness is a place to reconnect with your true Self and get in touch with your body. Healing is about peeling back the layers and connecting with our hearts and the Earth and community.

I offer clients a type of therapy that is based in the body and builds from there. I use a holistic and spiritual approach and pull from the work of Wilhelm Reich and CORE Energetics as well as mindfulness and somatic practices. All my techniques are rooted in Nature and with the intention of balance and personal sovereignty.

Clients who find this type of work meaningful often struggle with things like trauma, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, stressful life changes and health issues. These individuals and couples have an open mind in order to go beyond their comfort zones into whole-self healing.
